Exit temporal bone
- joins with deep petrosal nerves (carries sympathetic fibers)
- pterygoid canal
- pterygopalatine ganglion (synapese)

- Travels anteriorly

Parasympathetic and sympathetic:
- Lacrimal gland
- Nasal mucosa
