How do you use MS Project when planning projects?
The main contractor will produce and present a programme that reflects the scope of works with start date and date for completion for my review and approval.
I review to ensure it aligns with the scope of works, any statutory requirements, is in accordance with the KPIs and considers time allowance for approvals i.e. budget approval, planning.
Use the programme to manage budgets, monitor cashflow, track start and progress dates, monitor progress and early identifier of slippage and reporting to my client, and ensuring compliance to the key performance indicators for time in unit.
Why do you need to define governance structures in projects?
Provides direction and defines decision-making procedures
Defines roles and responsibilities and how decisions will be made on a project
How would you develop a basic stakeholder map?
Identify and analyse stakeholders
Map by creating a box divided by 4 plot based on influence and level of interest
Based on plot on the map can identify level of involvement, management and monitoring they require
How would you recognise sprayed asbestos?
Lumpy white/grey concrete-like substance, visibly sprayed onto certain surfaces.
It may be intact, covering the majority of the area, or it could have frayed over time and may be falling off in clumps.
Where might AIB have been used in construction?
Various places including houses and larger buildings i.e. schools, hospitals, offices.
Known for it’s insulating properties, can be found in a number of places including partition walls, soffits, fire-proofing panel in fire doors, ceiling tiles
