What are the functions of the Containment Purge system?
The CP system:
- provides an environment required for safe access (refueling and online)
- limits dose rates inside Containment,
- maintains pressure
- monitor and stop a release during a fuel handling accident or LOCA
The Containment Purge system is used to maintain nitrogen cover gas on the steam generators during wet layup conditions.
True of False?
True
The GA System uses a regulator to releases nitrogen into the CP System during the time that a cover gas is being maintained within the Steam Generators.
(EO 1.5)
What is the completion time for Tech Spec 3.6.3 Containment Isolation Valves, condition B, two required isolation valves INOP?
1 hour
What actions occur on a high alarm on RU-38, ‘B’ Power Access Purge Radiation monitor?
Ru 37/38 provide signals to be used by BOP ESFAS for the generation of a CPIAS, which would close all of the Containment isolation valves in the CP System.
(EO 1.4)
The Fire Protection System would be used (via a fire hose) to extinguish a fire in the charcoal filter of the:
A. Refueling Purge Normal Exhaust AHU
B. Power Access Purge Normal Exhaust AHU
C. Refueling Purge Essential AHU
D. Power Access Purge Essential AHU
B. Power Access Purge Normal Exhaust AFU
(EO 1.4)
The Containment Purge system is used to maintain a Nitrogen cover gas on the Main Steam System.
True or False?
True
The CP System is used to maintain the nitrogen cover gas on the Steam Generators during wet
layup conditions. The GA System uses a regulator to releases nitrogen into the CP System during
the time that a cover gas is being maintained within the Steam Generators.
(EO 1.5)
Tech Spec 3.9.3, Containment Penetrations, is applicable during Modes 1 through 4.
True or False?
False
APPLICABILITY: During CORE ALTERATIONS,
During movement of irradiated fuel assemblies within containment.
(EO 1.18)
What is the pressure band for Containment pressure per Tech Spec 3.6.4, Containment Pressure?
3.6.4 Containment Pressure
LCO 3.6.4 Containment pressure shall be
> -0.3 psig and < +2.5 psig.
APPLICABILITY: MODES 1, 2, 3, and 4.
ACTIONS - COND ITION REQUIRED ACTION COMPLETION TIME 1 hour
A. Containment pressure not within limits.
A.1 Restore containment pressure to within limits.
