The Health Service Regulations 2002 gives Secretary of State for Health, power to give notice to anyone requiring them to disclose confidential information in order to prevent spread of communicable disease (COPI Notice)

A
- Pharmacists can supply CDs without Rx in pandemic situations, where patient has been receiving Sch 2-4 (Part I) as part of ongoing treatment
- and to supply Sch 2-4 (Part I) under a Serious Shortage Protocol
- Emergency supply of Sch 2, 3 and 4 (Part I) to patient is allowed

How has the Home Delivery Service been amended?
A
- Now an essential service for patients shielding
- If approached by a patient who is shielding, pharmacy MUST provide Home Delivery
- Pharmacist must check if there is a representative who can deliver the medicine. If not a volunteer may be used. If neither are available, another pharmacy can deliver
