Coronary Arteries Flashcards
RCA location
- Lies in the area separating the RA and the RV
- Curves around posteriorly and descends behind the LV
RCA supplies which parts of myocardium
The RA
Large portion of the RV
Posterior 1/3 of the IV septum
Inferior wall of the LV
Part of posterior wall of LV
RCA supplies which parts of the conduction system
SA node (60% of the population)
AV node (90% of the population)
Bundle of HIS
Posterior division of the L bundle branch
Possible areas of infarction caused by RCA block
Inferior wall of the LV (most common)
Posterior wall of the LV
The RV
Possible arrthymias caused by RCA block
Sinus arrhythmias
Junctional arrythmias
Heart blocks
LAD location
- Anteriorly, over the IV (interventricular) septum
- Terminates in the inferior aspect of the cardiac apex
LAD supplies which parts of myocardium
Anterior wall of the LV and the RV
Anterior 2/3 of the IV septum
Possible areas of infarction caused by LAD block
Anterior wall of the LV (most common)
Septal wall of the LV
LAD supplies which parts of the conduction system
The R bundle branch
Anterior division of the L bundle branch
Large part of posterior division of the L bundle branch
Possible arrthymias caused by LAD block
Bundle branch blocks
Complete heart block
Circumflex artery location
Left anterior AV groove
Travels around the L side to the heart’s posterior side
circumflex artery supplies which parts of myocardium
The LA
The LV lateral wall, part of the posterior wall of LV
circumflex artery supplies which parts of the conduction system
SA node (40% of population)
The proximal bundle branches
Possible areas of infarction caused by circumflex artery block
Lateral wall of the LV (most common)
Posterior wall of the LV
Possible arrthymias caused block of the circumflex artery
Sinus arrhythmia
Bundle branch blocks
