MOA for ADHD stimulant medications
Work by inhibiting DAT-1 and NET (noreiphenphrine transporter) thereby inhibiting reuptake of Dopamine (DA) and Norepinephrine (NE) and inhibit monoamine oxidase (the enzyme that metabolizes catecholamines) –> increasing levels of DA and NE in the synapse
ADHD stimulant medications
Adverse Effects
Insomnia, anorexia, dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, headache, emotional lability, irritability, anxiety, increased blood pressure
DI for ADHD stimulants
Drug to Drug Interactions: Monoamine oxidate inhibitors (MOAIs), anticoagulants, anticonvulsants
