What are the components of stress?

What is coping?
Attempts to reduce stress through cognitive and behavioural efforts to manage the demands that are appraised.
What is the affect of an inability to cope with stressors in sport?

Physical - heart rate, breathing, muscle tension
Psychological - negative cognitions, images and worrying
How is your perception affected by coping resources?
When you have enough resources a challenge is perceived. When you lack resourced a threat is perceived.
