Maintenance of FW systems (Holding Tanks)?

A
  • Six Monthly - Thoroughly pumped out and hosed prior to filling if necessary.
  • Annually - Emptied, Opened, ventilated and inspected, be thoroughly cleaned and recoated as required. Should be disinfected with 50ppm chlorine solution.
  • Refit/Drydock - Entire system from all outlets should be superchlorinated with 50ppm for 12 hours and refilled with 0.2ppm.
  • Not exceeding 5 years - Pressure test on all of the tanks. system to be thoroughly flushed through with PW.

  • UV Areas to be cleaned to manufacturers instructions
  • Calorifiers to be opened up and inspected periodically (Generally Annually)

  • FW Hoses should be disinfected with 50ppm solution and allow to stand for an hour every 6 months or more frequent if necessary.
