A

It expresses a complete thought and can stand alone as a sentence. It is the main idea in a sentence.

Example: Animals repopulated the earth after the flood.

What’s a dependent clause?

A

It is a type of sentence fragment. It can not stand alone, even though it has a subject and a predicate, because it doesn’t express a complete thought. It is the lesser idea of the sentence.
