Truncus arterious. A single vessel provides for pulmonary, systemic, and coronary circulation
cyanosis soon after birth, increased pulmonary blood flow, CHF in 2 weeks after birth, harsh systolic heart mumer
diagnistic tests for truncus arteriosus
chest radiograph, ECG, echocardiogram
treatment for truncus arteriosus
CHF treatment (diuretics, dogoxin), surger to clsoe VSD and create a conduit, repeat surgery may be needed, prophylaxis for life, no competitive or strenuous sports, 10-30% surgical mortality
