Helps subordinates work through a personal situation
Prevents a problem from becoming unmanageable
Promotion counseling
Non recommending for promotion
Transition counseling
Soldier is demobilizing, separating, or retiring from active duty
Adverse separation
Informing Soldier of the administrative actions available to the Commander
Performance counseling
Conducted as a review of a Subordinate’s performance over a period of time
Professional growth counseling
Used to help subordinates envision and achieve their personal and professional goals
