CEMA and D3SOE in Multi Domain Flashcards
The Role of CEMA
activities leveraged to seize, retain, and exploit an
advantage over adversaries and enemies in both cyberspace and the electromagnetic spectrum
denying and degrading adversary and enemy use of the same and protecting the mission
command system
Key Domains
Cyberspace
Space
Areas of Cyberspace
The land, air, maritime, and space domains through the electromagnetic
spectrum (EMS) and wired networks.
Space is defined as?
The space environment, space assets, and terrestrial resources required to access and operate in,
to, or through the space environment
What is the range of frequencies of electromagnetic radiation from zero to
infinity. It is divided into 26 alphabetically designated bands
Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS)
What section is responsible for planning, integrating, and synchronizing cyberspace operations
(CO), electromagnetic warfare (EW), and spectrum management operations (SMO) to support the
commander’s mission and desired end state within cyberspace and the EMS
CEMA
Cyberspace operations primary purpose
To achieve objectives in or through cyberspace.
Cyberspace operations consist of three functions:
Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO)
Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO)
Department of Defense Information Network Operations (DODIN Operations)
Missions intended to project power in and
through cyberspace outside DOD networks to achieve positions of relative advantage
Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO)
Missions to preserve the ability to utilize blue
cyberspace capabilities and protect data, networks, cyberspace-enabled devices, and other
designated systems by defeating on-going or imminent malicious cyberspace activity
Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO)
Operations to design, build, configure, secure, operate, maintain, and sustain Department
of Defense networks to create and preserve information assurance on the Department of
Defense information networks
Department of Defense Information Network Operations (DODIN Operations)
Any military action involving the use of electromagnetic and directed
energy to control the electromagnetic spectrum or to attack the enemy
Electromagnetic Warfare (EW)
The use of electromagnetic energy, directed energy, or anti-radiation weapons to attack personnel, facilities, or equipment with the intent of degrading, neutralizing, or destroying enemy combat capability and is considered a form of
fires.
Electromagnetic Attack (EA)
A division of electromagnetic warfare involving actions taken to protect personnel, facilities, and equipment from any effects of friendly or enemy
use………………
Electromagnetic Protect (EP)
Involves actions tasked by, or under direct control of, an operational commander to search for, intercept, identify, and locate or localize sources of intentional and unintentional radiated electromagnetic energy
Electromagnetic Support (ES)
