Q

AB: Why would you fill a hollow CMU

A

Grout: easy-flowing cementitious material poured into a CMU wall

  • used for compressive strength
  • horizontal rebar and vertical rebar added for tensile strength
  • used for load bearing walls (including those that resist seismic)

Q

Injection foam filled

A

increases thermal resistance
can be inject from either the inside or outside and doesnt need to be poured at top of wall if not accessible
