Q

What is the somatic nervous system?

A

A system that consists of the motor and sensory nerve pathways which work together both voluntarily and involuntarily.

16
Q

What happens during a reflex (involuntary) reaction?

A

Messages travel to the spinal cord and they then go straight to the motor neurons instead of to the brain

17
Q

Nerves

A

Cells called neurons that make up our nervous system. They are specialised cells that carry messages from one part of the body to another as tiny electrical signals. These messages are also known as nerve impulses.
