Keyline timer

A

Limits VHF transmission to approx 35 secs

Approx 25 to 30 secs after PTT is selected the transceiver makes an aural tone (side tone) for 5 secs in the headset. When tone stops - transmission stops and radio is set to receive mode automatically

A

R = NAV and ADF range audio

A

A

Upper (VHF1) and lower fuselage (VHF 2 and 3)

Lower antenna = susceptible to multipath interference from nearby buildings and vehicles
Upper = no interference

A

Steady or intermittenent tone is heard through audio system

Tone can last as long as 7 secs

Longer than 7 secs to max 15secs = system has failed to tune
