Encoder
sender or source of message
Stimulus
factor that motivates a person to communicate w another individual
Sender
the person(s) who creates or sends the message to the receiver
Message
whatever the source communicated to the receiver
-goal is to have INTENDED message to be ACTUALLY communicated

Forms of communication
verbal (language)
nonverbal (expression, posture, sounds, silence, gen. phys appearance, electronic communication)

Roles of Doctor
asses + manage med treatment, examine patients, diagnose illness/injuries, administer treatment, counsel patients on health + well-being

assess, diagnose, outcome ID + planning, implement, evaluate

a patient says they don’t have pain but they are grimacing
Helping Relationship
unlike friendships, occurs for a specific purpose w a specific person
- unequal sharing of info (client shares health info, nurse shares prof info)
