What is important to discuss when starting clozapine
Discuss witn person
Blood tests- FBC, U and Es FBCs
What is important with titration of clozapine?
Start with a low dose
Do bp and hr montioring
Side effect monitoring
Titration regime over a few weeks to therapeutic dose
Bloods for FBC weekly for 18 weeks then fortnightly fir rest of year. Then monthgly
Side effects of clozapine
Sedation
Constipation
Hypersalivation
Weight gain
Decrease BP and increase HR
What is importnat if misses clozapine dose?
Need to retitrate if misses dose for 48 hours
