Door Opening Procedures (Disarmed)

A
  1. Stop. Focus
  2. Visually verify the door is disarmed with the girt bar and red strap stowed.
    3.Assess outside conditions through the door window.
  3. Face the door, standing with feet shoulder-width apart, at an arm’s length away from the door.
  4. Grasp the door assist handle with one hand and the door control handle with the other hand.
  5. Rotate the door control handle fully in the direction of the arrow.
  6. With a continuous motion, push the door outward.
  7. As the door reaches the mid-point, switch one hand from the door control handle to the door assist handle and grasp the forward fuselage assist handle with the other hand.
  8. Continue to push the door outward and forward until completely opened.
  9. Ensure the door latches securely against the fuselage and the gust lock engages.

Door Closing Procedures

A
  1. Check the door still area for any obstructions.
  2. Grasp the door assist handle with one hand. Press down and hold the gust lock with the opposite hand.
  3. Using the door assist handle, slightly pull the door inwards.
  4. Grasp the forward fuselage assist handle with one hand while continuing to hold the door assist handle with the other hand.
  5. Slowly pull the door inward.
  6. As the door reaches its midpoint, switch handles and grasp the door assist handle with one hand and the door control handle with the other hand.
  7. Carefully and slowly guide the door into the cabin.
  8. Continue to rotate the door control handle in the opposite direction of the arrow until the door is seated within the fuselage frame.
  9. Ensure the door is fully locked by firmly pushing down the door control handles.
  10. Verify that the top and bottom door seals are closed with no obstructions between the door and fuselage. Confirm that no light is visible or exterior sounds are heard through the top or bottom door seals.

  1. tell the Ops Agent the cabin is secure for pushback and the entry door is ready to be closed.
    2.Allow the Ops Agent to close the door to the cracked position.
    3.Lock the door
    4.Verify the door is locked, the top and bottom seals appear flush, and safety straps are inside.
