FTT definition and criteria
-inadequate calories to meet metabolic need
weight is below 3rd percentile or
weight for length/height falls below 3rd percentile or
rate of weight slows down compared to prior growth crossing two or more percentiles downward
non-organic vs organic FTT and which is more common
non-organic is external things like lack of caloric intake due to decreased production, vs organic is real things like congenital heart disease
-more common is non organic
three means of inadequate caloric intake
-excessive need, excessive loss, insufficient intake
sx of formula or milk protein allergy
bloody stools
mean hgb at 2 months of age and what is the hgb at its nadir/what is it
at 2 months of age - 11.2
the nadir is 11 at 7-9 weeks
lab result in CF and commonest mutation in CF
sweat chloride >= 60 is consistent with CF, as is elevated immunoreactive trpsinogen
