waarom is GAD gecategoriseerd onder distress en niet onder fear (van hiTOP)
omdat het hier echt gaat om worrying, niet perse om een specifieke angst (zoals bij de anderen -> die horen bij internalizing fear)
generalized anxiety syndrome A=
excessive anxiety and worrying (apprehensive expectiation), occuring more days than not for at least 6 months, about a number of events or activities (such as work/school performance)
generalised anxiety syndrome B=
the individual finds it difficult to control the worrying (out of control, they cannot control it!!)
generalised anxiety syndrome C=
the anxiety and worrying are associated with 3 or more of these (with at least some symptoms having been present for more days than not for the past 6 months):
- restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge
- being easily fatigued
- difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
- irritability
- muscle tension
- sleep disturbance
depressive episode =
five or more of the following symptoms, during 2 weeks, change from previous functioning, at least one of the symptoms is 1 or 2:
- depressed mood most of the day
- loss of interest or pleasure
- significant weight losswhen not dieting, or weight gain
- insomnia or hypersomnia
- psychomotor agitation or retardation
- fatigue or loss of energy
- feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt
- diminished ability to think or concentrate, or indecisiveness
- recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal ideation
an depressive episode…
is never something that you diagnose!! always part of a syndrome.
dus MDE =/= MDD
major depressive syndrome (depressieve stoornis) A=
at least 1 depressive episode
dysthymie (persistent depressive syndrome) A=
depressieve stemming het grootste gedeelte van de dag, meer dagen wel dan niet, ofwel eigen observatie of die van anderen, voor tenminste 2 jaar
dysthymie/persistent depressive syndrome B =
presence, while depressed, of 2 or more:
1. poor appetite or overeating
2. insomnia or hypersomnia
3. low energy or fatigue
4. low self-esteem
5. poor concentration or difficulty making decisions
6. feelings of hopelessness
dysthymia/persistent depressive syndrome C=
during the 2 year period (1 year for children or adolescents) of the disturbance, the individual has never been without symptoms of A and B for more than 2 months at a time
dysthymia/persistent depressive syndrome D=
criteria for a major depressive syndrome may be continously present for 2 years
