What does effective communication help you with?
it helps you understand your relationship with clients better. It is a learned behaviors.
What are some important skills of communication?
Having procedures and expectations for someone to follow, connecting feeling and to help express empathy, great your clients with a greet and hello, and use a positive approach when communicating and include encouragement, support, and positive reinforcement.
What is verbal communication?
speaking out loud so the other person can hear you?
What is nonverbal communication?
someone is thinking or feeling which reflects to their body language.
What is active listening and its skills?
The act of listening not only to hear what’s being spoken, but to understand the complete message. Having a genuine attitude towards the clients perspective. Some skills are: not interrupting, be open and willing to learn, resist judgement, show empathy and respect, provide feedback.
What does affirmation do for a client?
it shows appreciation to the clients for their strength and who they are. Clients may feel more validated by positive affirmations.
What are directive questions?
they are known as close ended questions which can be answered with one word
What are non directive questions?
they are known as open ended questions which cannot be answered in one word.
What is the act of reflecting when it comes to a client?
is an opportunity to ensure they said what they thought our felt. It also shows a way of active listening and and allows a conversation between client and trainer to flow and the information will come from the client.
