More effective when practice repetitively so the skill becomes more automatic. The constancy of the environment makes varied practice unnecessary and distracting
How do you practice a discrete skill ?
Better taught as a whole rather than splitting them up into sub routines
How do you practice a serial skill ?
By breaking them down into sub routines, practicing the sub routines before the skill is practiced as a whole
