Q

How to assess if someone has chronic kidney disease? look at urine and presence of albumin which is indicating that glomerulus is not filtering as appropriate and letting out bigger items than we would like, we look eGFR and presence of albumin in there urine and it has to be there for how long?

Q

There’s also different markers of kidney damage so in additon to albuminuria you could have presence of structural abnormalities so maybe you have scar tissue due to damage of diabetes or different sediment abnormalities

Q

Living donor is best chance of getting a kidney transplant and if we you wait for a deceased donor they do alot of matching they have to make sure that everything looks perfect. If you have a living donor and even if you don’t match exactly they can enter you into a donor swap program and so you could have a good match for somebody else and somebody else might have a good match for you and you could swap kidneys

17
Q

G1 GFR is what?

A

greater than 90

18
Q

What pt would be G1?

A

patient had a transplant or pt has high protein levels so something else is going on in the body thatis indicating that albuminuria level is increased so you could have stage G2A3 in the pt, so their kidney function in the GFR may not have dropped but the presence of albuminuria is what ends up placing them into classification for chronic kidney disease
