Confederate Advantages: Able generals like Robert E. Lee, Fighting a defensive war, Defending their homeland, Farmers fight better that factory workers. Advantages for the Union: Had double the population, Had Abraham Lincoln as a leader, Had the industry, Had railroads for transportation.
Compare/Contrast how the south and north were affected during the war.
The north had disagreements with the Copperheads. Lincoln had them arrested and suspended the writ of habeas corpus, which prevents government from holding citizens without formal charge

North: New industry, Fewer farmers. South:
Economic disaster, Farmers and plantations were destroyed,40% of livestock were destroyed, 50% of farm machinery destroyed, Labor system slaves GONE
