Cisterns Flashcards

1
Q

Cerebellopontine angle

A

The cerebellopontine angle is the anatomic space between the cerebellum and the pons filled with cerebrospinal fluid

Contains CN 7 and CN 8 and Bochdaleks flower basket

A

Anterior to the lamina terminalis, connects the chiasmatic and supracallosal cisterns.

Anterior cerebral arteries (A1 section below the anterior communicating artery, and A2 section above it)

  • A1 branches:
  • anteromedial central arteries/Lenticulostriate arteries
  • A2 branches:
  • Recurrent artery of Heubner/Distal medial Striate Artery
  • Orbitofrontal artery/medial frontal basal artery
  • Frontopolar artery
