what does the circulatory system do
carries food and oxygen to every cell in the body
what is the circulatory system made up of

what is a double circulatory system
two circuits joined together
what does the first of two circuits joined together do
the first one is the right ventricle and it pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs to take in oxygen
what does the second of two circuits joined together do
the left ventricle pumps oxygen blood all around the body
what is the heart
a pumping organ that keeps the blood flowing around the body and the walls are mostly made of muscular tissues
what do the heart valves do
makes sure the blood flows in the right direction
what are the hearts 4 chambers and what do they collectively do
right atrium
left atrium
right ventricle
left ventricle
pump blood around the body
how does the heart use the 4 chambers to pump blood around the body
1)the blood flows into the atria from the vena cava and the pulmonary vein
2) the atria contracts pushing the blood to the ventricles
3) the ventricles contract pushing the blood to the pulmonary artery and the aorta
4) the blood flows to the organs through arteries and returns through veins
