Neuropathic Pain

Caused by damage or disease affecting any part of the nervous system

Trigeminal Neuralgia
A
Compression of trigeminal nerve root by loop of artery or vein. Leads to demyelination and ectopic transmission after triggered pain episodes.

Post-herpetic Neuralgia
A
Nerves involved with infection of acute herpes zoster are inflamed.

CRPS
A
Complex regional pain syndrome.
Disorder of extremities characterized by pain, swelling, limited ROM. Mostly preceded by direct physical trauma, often minor. Often follows surgical repair.
