What does it mean by God as omnipotent?
God is all powerful
What does it mean by god as benevolent?
God is all loving/good
What does it mean by god as just?
God is a fair judge, he decides wether we go to heaven or hell
What makes up the holy trinity?
The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit
What part of the bible can the creation story be found?
Genesis 1
What is incarnation?
The belief that Jesus was God in his human form
What is the Crucifixion?
How Jesus dies, nailed to the cross and put to death
What is the resurrection?
Where Jesus rose from the dead
What is the Ascension?
When Jesus returned to heaven and asked his disciples to carry on his work
When do Christian’s think the afterlife begins?
At death or at the day of judgement
What is the Christian belief about Judgement?
After death God will judge Christian’s on their behaviour and actions, for example the parable of the sheep and the goat
How would a Christian describe Heaven?
A place of peace, joy and freedom from pain
How would a Christian describe Hell?
Existence without God, and eternal torment
What is purgatory?
A catholic belief, it is a place where souls go to beck cleansed before they reach heaven
What is a sin?
Any thought or action that separates us from God
What is the original sin?
When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit
What is salvation?
To be saved from sin and have eternal life with God
What are two ways Christian’s believe you can achieve salvation?
Doing good work- help others, follow 10 commandments
Through grace- when salvation is given freely from God as a gift of his love
What is atonement?
The removal of sin, the making amends for wrong doing. Relationship with God can be restored
How did Jesus help our salvation?
His crucifixion made up for the original sin of Adam and Eve
He sacrificed himself on our behalf, he “died for our sins”
