Before celebrating the New Year, Chinese will
get rid of the old things, get new things
instead and will clean their homes. In the
evening of the New Year Eve, the whole family
will reunite together, they will watch TV at
home and have a family dinner.

Then, in the morning, or in the first day of
the New Year, everybody will go out to pay a
New Year call to their relatives and friends.

So when paying a New Year call, is there any
special way of saying things?

Of course there is. Usually, you can say
“Happy New Year!” or “Wish you to get rich!” If you want to crack a joke, you can say
“Wish you to get rich, now give me the red
