A

Rhino - firming tellings to the child, assertive.
Kangaroo - want to protect the child, quite unhelpful, babying the child, promotes reinforcement of compensatory behaviours.

A

St Bernard Approach (behaviourally) - calm and steady, keeping emotions contained for the sake of the child.
Dolphin (emotionally) - gentle nudges, as and when needed.

What is the Maudsley family based treatment approach?

A

Is an intensive, outpatient treatment. It opposes the view that the family is part of the problem and views them as an essential resource for recovery. involves 15-20 min sessions over 12 months.
