itchy rash - spreads from top. macular → papular → vesicular
mild systemic upset
measles - presentation
prodrome - irritable, conjuncitivis, fever
koplik spots - buccal mucosa
maculopapular rash - behind ears to body
mumps - presentation
fever
malaise
muscle pain
parotitis - earache, painful eating
rubella - presentation
pink maculopapular rash - face to body - 3-5d
lymphadenopathy
scarlet fever - presentation
group A strep age 2-6 fever 24-48h malaise tonsillitis strawberry tongue flushed cheeks rash - sandpaper / fine punctuate erythema sparing face. starts on torso. peels later.
scarlet fever - diagnosis + management + complications
diagnosis - throat swab
management - oral penicillin V (before swab)
PHE
otitis media, rheumatic fever, GN
measles - management
supportive
safety net - come back if not getting better - complications can be life threatening
