· Creative Play – developing mastery of skills that support school and work activities. Child begins to engage more in cooperative groups.

Social-Emotional/Cognitive Development at 7-12 YEARS
· Games – child participates in paly with rules, competition, social interaction and opportunities for skill development. Friends become an important source of validation.
· Empirical-Inductive thinking: Rules are best understood when applied. Child solves problems with the information that is obvious and present.
Social-Emotional/Cognitive Development at 11-18 YEARS
· Hypothetical-deductive thinking: the ability to analyze and plan. Child can hypothesize many ways to solve problems and draw from past and present experiences to imagine the consequences of various actions.
