What is a symmetric tonic neck reflex?
When an infant’s neck is extended, the elbows
extend and the hips flex. When the head is
lowered, the elbows flex and the hips extend.
What is a bunny hop pattern?
A bunny hop pattern is a result of symmetric tonic
neck reflex utilization in order to elicit movement
at the hips and elbows for mobility.

The Sitting World (6 months)
· Track with eyes
· Make eye contact
· Move head side to side (1 month)
· Right head when supported in sitting
· Bear weight on forearms
· Momentarily lift head
Gross Motor development at 4-6 months.
· Keep head up to observe room (4 months)
· No head lag when picked up from arms

· Rolling (segmental rolling)
· Sitting upright alone (only briefly; using a wide base of support)
