Chi-Square Flashcards
Why do we use Chi-Square Tests ?
To compare the validity of observed and expected data
Null Hypothesis
There is no significant difference between the observed and expected frequencies.
What’s the point of the Chi-Square Tet?
To accept or reject the Chi-Square value.
How do you calculate the “Degrees of Freedom”
The number of possible outcomes minus 1
(N-1)
What happens if the Chi-Square value is higher than the critical value?
You reject the null hypothesis.
What happens if the Chi-Square value is lower than the critical value?
You accept the null hypothesis.
What is the Chi-Square Equation?
X^2 = sigma (o-e)^2/e
What does the Chi-Square Equation mean?
The sum of the observed value minus the expected value squared, divided by the expected value , of all the categories equals the Chi-Square Value.
