What were the impacts of the disaster?
Belarus- children were 100 times more likely to develop thyroid cancer than before the disaster . Also vegetables and animals were contaminated by radioactive rain
Poland?
Stillbirth and babies died shortly after birth
Germany?
There were food scarces and children were born with disabilities
Norway and Finland?
Reindeer were affected which meant that people could not rely on food or clothes also fish were contaminated
Russia?
Thyroid cancer and the ground was contaminated with radio actvitity
Why did it happen to all of these countries?
Because of the radioactive dust that travelled through the atmosphere causing most people disabilities , Thyroid , cancer , animals and vegetables which were contaminated.
How many people died in Belarus , Ukraine and Russia alone?
An estimated 200,000 people
