Q

What is the step by step method on how to do evaporation?

A

1) pour the solution into a evaporating dish
2) slowly heat the solution, the solvent will evaporate and the solution will get more concentrated
3) then crystals will start to form

Q

How is evaporation a really quick method?

A

because it is used for separating a soluble salt from a solution, you can only use it if the salt does not break down otherwise you will use crystalisation instead

Q

What is the step by step method on how to do crystalisation?

A

1)Pour the solution into an evaporating dish and gently heat the solution. Some of the solvent will evaporate and the solution will get more concentrated.
2) When crystals start to form, remove the dish from the heat and leave to cool.
