FUEL PUMP/CROSSFEED OPERATION.

A
  1. # 1 and #2 FIRE PULL handles - Pull.
  2. STANDBY PUMP switches - ON.
  3. BATTERY switch - ON.
  4. # 1 and #2 FUEL PRESS warning annunciators - Illuminated.
  5. # 1 and #2 FIRE PULL handles - Push in.
  6. # 1 and #2 FUEL PRESS warning annunciators - Extinguished.
  7. STANDBY PUMP switches - Off.
  8. # 1 and #2 FUEL PRESS warning annunciators - Illuminated.
  9. CROSSFEED switch - Momentarily left then right. Check the #1 and #2 FUEL PRESS annunciators extinguish and the FUEL CROSSFEED annunciator illuminates in each position.
  10. CROSSFEED switch - OFF.

OXYGEN SYSTEM.

A
  1. OXYGEN SUPPLY PRESSURE gauges -Check for leaks and sufficient quantity for the entire mission. Maximum leak rate is 100 PSI in one hour.
  2. Oxygen mask - Check:
    a. OXYGEN SUPPLY PANEL control knob (black) - ON.
    b. OXYGEN SUPPLY PANEL pressure gauge - Check pressure is between 300 to 400 PSI (red scale)/ 20.7 to 27.6 BAR (black scale).
    c. Oxygen mask - Remove from stowage box and inflate harness. Verify the harness is not leaking by observing a yellow/white then constant black flow indicator on the regulator control panel within a few seconds while keeping the harness inflated.
    d. Oxygen mask - Don and deflate the harness.
    e. Diluter lever- N (normal). Ensure FLOW indicator blinker appears during inhale and disappears on exhale.
    f. Diluter lever - 100%. Ensure FLOW indicator is operational while breathing.
    g. EMERGENCY control knob (red) -Rotate to EMERGENCY position. Breathing should be free and unrestricted. Check for leaks.
    h. EMERGENCY control knob (red) -Rotate to N (normal).
    i. MIC switch - OXYGEN MASK.
    j. MIC impedance select switch - Set as required.
    k. Oxygen mask microphone - Check.
    l. MIC switch - HEADSET.
    m. MIC impedance select switch - Set as required.

ENGINE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM.

A
  1. LEFT and RIGHT ENG FIRE TEST switches (individually) -DET. Check the MASTER WARNING annunciators and the respective FIRE PULL handle illuminate.
  2. LEFT and RIGHT ENG FIRE TEST switches (individually) -EXT. Check the MASTER CAUTION, SQUIB OK, and respective EXTGH DISCH annunciators illuminate.

AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM. Altitude Alerter.

A
  1. Pilot’s altimeter - Set to field elevation.
  2. Altitude preselector - Set to more than 1000 ft above altitude set on pilot’s PFD. Pilot’s altimeter altitude alert annunciator light should be extinguished.
  3. Pilot’s altimeter BARO SET knob - Slowly increase pilot’s altimeter setting.
  4. Altitude alerter annunciator and horn -Verify that altitude alerter annunciator on pilot’s altimeter illuminates and altitude alerter horn sounds when pilot’s altimeter reading is approximately 1000 ft from value set on altitude select controller.
  5. Pilot’s altimeter - Reset to field elevation.
  6. Altitude preselector- Reset to field elevation.
  7. Pilot’s altimeter BARO SET knob - Slowly increase pilot’s altimeter setting.
  8. Altitude alerter annunciator and horn -Verify that the altitude alerter annunciator on pilot’s altimeter illuminates and altitude alerter horn sounds when altimeter reading is approximately 250 ft from value set on altitude alert controller.
  9. Pilot’s altimeter - Reset to field elevation.

AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM.

Flight Director Bit.

A
  1. SBY annunciator switch (flight director mode selector) - Depress for at least 5 to 8 seconds and verify the following indications:
    a. Flight director mode selector annunciators - Illuminated.
    b. Autopilot TRIM annunciators - Illuminated.
    c. Autopilot disconnect horn - Sounds.
    d. RUDDER BOOST annunciators - Illuminated.
    e. A/P TRIM (pilot and copilot annunciators) - Illuminated.
  2. SBY annunciator switch - Release.
  3. FD and ATT annunciations on the PFD - Check extinguished.
  4. Altitude preselector window - Check the window for a malfunction code.

AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM

Autopilot.

A
  1. A/P LT and A/P RT selector - Check illuminated. Press to toggle between A/P LT and A/P RT and back to A/P LT.
  2. Autopilot controller AP switch - Press. Check AP ENGAGE and YD ENGAGE annunciators illuminate, autopilot is engaged, and APND displays on pilot and copilot PFDs.
  3. Pilot’s control wheel APND/TRIM DISC button - Press to first level. Confirm AP ENGAGE and YD ENGAGE annunciators extinguish and autopilot disengaged.

NOTE
If the crew determines a more extensive test of the autopilot is required, complete Step 4 through Step 17.
4. TURN knob - Centered.
5. ELEV TRIM switch - Check on.
6. Control wheel - Move to mid-travel.
7. Autopilot controller AP switch - Press. Check annunciator illuminated and autopilot engaged.
WARNING
If autopilot or yaw damper disengages during overpower test, do not use. If AP ENGAGE or YD ENGAGE annunciator continues to flash, do not use. Loss of aircraft control, damage to equipment, injury, and/or loss of life may occur.
8. ELEV TRIM follow-up/overpower - Check as follows:
a. Control wheel - Pull aft of mid travel simultaneously turn yoke left and right, apply left and right rudder pedal pressure, to check overpower capability. Trim wheel should run nose down after approximately 3 seconds. Trim down annunciator should illuminate after approximately 6 to 8 seconds and A/P TRIM annunciator (instrument panel) should illuminate after approximately 15 seconds.
b. Control wheel - Push forward of mid travel to the forward stop. Trim wheel should run nose up after approximately 3 seconds. TRIM UP annunciator should illuminate after approximately 6 to 8 seconds, and A/P TRIM (instrument panel) annunciator should illuminate after approximately 15 seconds.
c. APND/TRIM DISC button - Press to first level. APND annunciators on PFD should flash five times and autopilot disconnect aural alert should sound.
9. Control wheel - Position to mid-travel.
10. Autopilot controller AP switch - Press. Check annunciator illuminated and autopilot engaged.
11. TURN knob - Check that control wheel follows turns in each direction.
12. Pitch wheel - Check that PITCH TRIM wheel follows pitch wheel movements.
13. Heading marker - Center and engage HDG mode. Check that control wheel follows heading changes in each direction.
14. GO AROUND button - Depress. Check that AP disengages and FD commands a wings level, 7° nose up attitude.
15. RUDDER BOOSTNAW CONTROL TEST switch - YAW CONTROL TEST. Check the RUDDER BOOST annunciators above the PFDs illuminate and yaw damper disengages.
16. YD switch - Press while holding RUDDER BOOSTNAW CONTROL TEST switch to the YAW CONTROL TEST position. The yaw damper should not engage.
17. RUDDER BOOSTNAW CONTROL TEST switch - RUDDER BOOST. Check RUDDER BOOST annunciators extinguish.

Electric Elevator Trim.

A

.. ELEV TRIM switch - On.
2. Pilot and copilot PITCH TRIM switches - Check individual elements for no movement of trim and then check proper operation of both elements.
3. Pilot PITCH TRIM switches - Check that pilot switches override copilot switches while trimming in opposite directions and trim moves in direction commanded by pilot.
4. Pilot or copilot PITCH TRIM switches - Actuate and hold for next step.
-. AP/YD/TRIM DISC switch - Press to second detent. Check trim disconnects and ELEC TRIM OFF annunciator illuminates.
/. ELEV TRIM switch - OFF/RESET then on. Check ELEC TRIM OFF annunciator extinguishes.

TCAS Test 2 (ATC Transponder).

A
  1. Transponder select annunciator switch
    (pedestal extension miscellaneous selector/status annunciator panel) - Push to select ATC.
  2. Ensure TCAS is not selected for display on either PFD.
  3. Select COMP 360 HSI on both PFDs.
  4. Select ARC MAP and TCAS for display on MFD.
  5. Move the select box to the transponder window on the RCU and press the DETAIL key.
  6. TEST (LSK 4L) key - Press momentarily and observe the following:
    a. The PFDs display red and green VSI advisory arcs. The message TCAS TEST (white) shows in the arcs.
    b. The MFD displays the four types of TCAS traffic symbols.
    c. Ensure the aural message, “TCAS SYSTEM, TEST OKAY” is heard in the audio system.

  1. AC frequency -394 to 406 Hz.
  2. AC voltage - 104 to 124 Vac.

AUTOFEATHER/AUTO IGNITION.

A
  1. AUTO IGNITION switches - ARM.
  2. POWER levers - Set approximately 22%torque.
  3. AUTOFEATHER switch - Hold to TEST (both AUTOFEATHER annunciators illuminated).
  4. POWER levers - Retard individually.
    a. At 14% to 20% torque - IGN
    ON annunciator illuminated and opposite AUTOFEATHER annunciator extinguished.
    b. At 7% to 13% torque - Both AUTOFEATHER annunciators extinguished (propeller starts to feather).
    c. POWER lever - Return to approximately 22% torque.
  5. Repeat above procedure with other engine.
  6. POWER levers - IDLE.
  7. AUTOFEATHER switch - ARM.
  8. AUTO IGNITION switches - Off.

OVERSPEED GOVERNORS / RUD­DER BOOST.

A
  1. YD switch - Press. Observe YD ENGAGE annunciator illuminated.
  2. Overspeed GOVERNOR switch - Hold to TEST position.
  3. Left POWER lever - Advance until PROP RPM stabilizes. Confirm propeller stabilizes between 1540 to 1580 RPM.
  4. Overspeed GOVERNOR switch - Release and observe that PROP RPM increases.
  5. Left POWER lever - Continue advancing. At approximately 50% TORQUE differential, YD ENGAGE annunciator should extinguish and the left rudder pedal should start to move forward. Increasing engine power should result in increased rudder pedal travel (do not exceed engine limitations).
  6. Left POWER lever - Slowly retard. Left rudder pedal should move aft with decreasing power. The YD ENGAGE annunciator may flicker as rudder boost system disengages.
  7. Repeat entire procedure for right engine.

PRIMARY GOVERNORS.

A
  1. POWER levers - Set approximately 1500 RPM.

2. PROP levers - Move aft to detent, check PROP RPM 1150±50 then return to HIGH RPM.

ANTI-ICE/DEICE.

A
  1. WINDSHIELD anti-ice switches (individually)
    - NORMAL then HIGH. Check for slight increase on the GENERATOR DC % LOAD meters in each position then OFF.
  2. PROP AUTO switch - ON and note time. Check PROP AMP indicator needle in green arc. At 90 seconds, the needle may fluctuate but must remain in green arc.
  3. PROP AUTO switch - Off.
  4. PROP MANUAL switch - ON. Check
    for approximately 10% increase in both GENERATOR DC % LOAD meters then off.
  5. SURFACE deice switch - SINGLE CYCLE AUTO. Note time and check:
    a. For drop in PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and wing deice boots (four) inflation.
    b. After 6 seconds, check for a second drop in PNEUMATIC PRESSURE as both horizontal stabilizer boots and both stabilon boots inflate. Wing deice boots shall deflate.
    c. After 10 seconds, check that all surface deice boots are deflated.
  6. SURFACE deice switch - Hold in MANUAL. Check surface deice boots are inflated then release.
  7. ANTENNA deice switch - SINGLE CYCLE AUTO. Check for a drop in PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and all visible antenna deice boots inflate. After 6 seconds, check that all visible antenna deice boots are deflated.
  8. ANTENNA deice switch - Hold in MANUAL. Check that all visible antenna deice boots inflate then release. Check all visible antenna deice boots are deflated.
  9. RADOME anti-ice switch - ON. Check for a drop in PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and a small rise in the GENERATOR DC % LOAD meters then off.

PNEUMATICSNACUUM/PRESSURIZATION.

A
  1. PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and GYRO SUCTION gauges - Check in green arcs.
  2. CABIN CONTROLLER - Set CABIN ALT-FT to -1000 setting or field pressure altitude -1000 feet, whichever is higher.
  3. CABIN CONTROLLER RATE knob - Set to maximum (full clockwise).
  4. ENVIRO & PNEU BLEED AIR switches -Off.
  5. PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and GYRO SUCTION gauges - Check. Pressure should drop to zero.
  6. L and R BL AIR OFF annunciators - Check illuminated.
  7. L and R BL AIR FAIL annunciators - Check illuminated.
  8. CABIN PRESS switch - Hold in TEST.
  9. LEFT ENVIRO & PNEU BLEED AIR switch
    - ON.
  10. L BL AIR OFF annunciator - Check extinguished.
  11. L and R BL AIR FAIL annunciators - Check extinguished.
  12. PNEUMATIC PRESSURE and GYRO SUCTION gauges - Check in green arcs.
  13. CABIN CLIMB indicator -Check for descent indication within 15 seconds then release CABIN PRESS switch.
  14. LEFT ENVIRO & PNEU BLEED AIR switch
    - Off.
  15. Repeat Step 5 through Step 13 using the RIGHT ENVIRO & PNEU BLEED AIR switch.
  16. CABIN CONTROLLER -Set as required.
  17. CABIN CONTROLLER RATE knob-Set as required.
  18. ENVIRO & PNEU BLEED AIR switches -As required.
