Positive and negative symptoms
-Positive: does not inhibit individual normal behaviour
-negative: inhibit individual from carrying out normal behaviours
positive symptoms - hallucinations
-perception of unreal sense (touch,sight) but no external stimuli
-Lewandoski et al - 20% schizo tactile hallucinations, feel touched but something not exist
-formicatiob - insect crawl
positive symptoms - delusions
-beliefs of self or others not backed by physical evidence
-persecution: someone or group of people wanting to harm you
-grandiose: believe self has exceptional abilities (wealth, skills) pretend to be Churchill
-in extreme, body involuntary move (think controlled)

-alogia lack of speech , avolition, anhedonia not react to pleasure , flatness of affect, catatonic behaviour
