Explain why it is important for a Personal Training Specialist to conduct pre-exercise screening for every client and list at least five types of information that should be gathered from the health history questionnaire.
Importance includes:
- being professional and fulfilling duty of care to see if clients should be referred to allied health professionals
- understand your clients better creating good communication
- identify strengths/weaknesses and due to any muscular imbalance or past injury
Info on ParQ+ form:
- client details
- current medical conditions
- cardiac risks & family health history
- current or past injuries
- past and present exercise and nutritional history
- past and present work history
- determine safe, effective exercise for each client
Describe the ways in which postural faults can affect a client’s training results.
Postural faults that are not addressed can negatively affect a client by decreasing performance and aesthetic changes, as well as increasing the risk of injury and occurrence of pain.
