Take the adjective πονηροῦ (“evil”) in Matthew 6:13, for example. Many translations express this as “but deliver us from evil .” Yet, the adjective has the article modifying it (τοῦ) meaning it is speaking in terms of the “evil” in which regard?

Adjective: Predicate
Predicate - part of the sentence following the verb.
Adjective that follows the verb the “man is good.“

Case determined by how it functions. Acts as a noun
■ A substantival adjective functions as a noun. Its case is determined by function, number and gender by what it stands for. They tend to follow natural gender.

Attributive - standard use adjective
■ An attributive adjective gives an attribute to a noun, which is called the “head noun.” The attributive adjective agrees with its head noun in case, number, and gender.
