Chapter 6.1: Polygons Flashcards
1
Q
Polygon
A
a plane figure that is formed by three or more segments called sides, such that the following are true…
- Each side intersects exactly two other sides, once at each endpoint.
- No two sides with a common endpoint are collinear.
2
Q
Convex
A
a polygon is convex if no line that contains a side of the polygon contains a point in the interior of the polygon.
3
Q
Concave
A
a polygon is concave (non convex) if at least one line that contains a side of the polygon contains a point in the interior of the polygon.
4
Q
Diagonal
A
a segment that joins two nonconsecutive vertices.
5
Q
Equilateral
A
a polygon is equilateral if all its sides are congruent.
6
Q
Equiangular
A
a polygon is equiangular if all its interior angles are congruent.
7
Q
Regular
A
a polygon is regular if it is equilateral and equiangular.
