“Runners of the woods”, French fur-trappers. All were voyageurs. Established trading posts throughout North America.

Travelers, independent contractors, workers, partners in companies with fur trade
Voyageurs
(1754-1763) nine year war between British and French colonies in North America. Resulted in expulsions of French from North America mainland. Sparked 7 year war in France.
French/Indian war
Political cartoon made by Benjamin Franklin during French/Indian war. American colonies needed to unite against French and natives.

Bloody campaign waged by Ottawa chief pontiac to drive the British out of Ohio country. Brutally crushed by British troops

Decree by parliament in wake of Pontiac’s prohibited settlement begins Appalachians. Contributed to resentment of British rule in colonies
