What is Paralysis?
The loss of sensation and voluntary muscle control.
What is the most common cause of Paralysis?
Injury to the spinal cord, because the nerve fibers going up and down and from the brain.
The cause of Paralysis can be products of what?
Falls, sports and injuries such as strokes and polio.
What are the four main categories of paralysis?
Monoplegia, Hemiplegia, Paraplegia and Quadriplegia
What is Monoplegia?
Paralysis of a single area of the body, usually one limb.
What is Hemiplegia?
Paralysis of an arm and leg on the same side of the body.
What is Paraplegia?
Paralysis below the waist affecting both hips and legs.
What is Quadriplegia?
Paralysis below the neck affecting all four limbs, as well as the torso.
