-What? Business and IT plans, mission and goals are in sync
- how? Develop plans in the same time with the same people for the same business scope
Operational alignment:
-what? Communication, shared knowledge, mutuality between IT AND business staff
-how? Foster interaction, create commonality, cross unit teaching, geographical closeness

Communication: establish communication channels/explain and support interaction/ basis for alignment/without it the other 2 cant develop/
Knowledge: establish cross domain knowledge/commit org resources to knowledge exchange
Trust: establish cross domain trust/ control results to replace rumors with facts
Establish operational it/business alignment to provide the base for successful change management- opera framework
- aligning IT AND BUSINESS is a continuous process
-managers need to deploy a portofolio of mechanisms
