Q

Explain the general model of telecommunications

A

-A sending unit (a person, a computer system, a terminal, or another device), sends the message signal to a telecommunications device

-The telecommunications device may convert it into a different form

-The telecommunications device then sends the signal through a medium.

-Another telecommunications device connected to the receiving computer (6) receives the signal

-The process can be reversed, and the receiving unit can send another message to the original sending unit

16
Q

Evaluate Coaxial cable

A

Advantages: Cleaner and faster data transmission

Disadvantages: Expensive

17
Q

Define terrestrial microwaves

A

High frequency signal transmitted by line-of-sight devices so that the line of sight between the transmitter and receiver must be unobstructed

18
Q

Define satellite microwaves

A

Receive signal from the Earth station, amplifies the weak signal and rebroadcasts it at a different frequency

19
Q

Define 3-5G wireless communication

A

5G brings higher data transmission rates, lower power consumption, higher connection reliability with fewer dropped calls, increased geographical coverage and lower infrastructure costs

20
Q

Define Wifi

A

A medium range wireless telecommunications technology

21
Q

Define Bluetooth

A

A wireless communications specification that describes how electronic devices can be interconnected over distances

22
Q

Define Near field communication

A

A very short-range wireless connectivity technology designed for consumer electronics

23
Q

Explain infrared transmission

A

-It sends signals through the air via light waves

-It can be used to connect peripheral devices and establish a wireless network, with the advantage that devices can be moved and installed without expensive wiring and network
