What is Dwell?
When the fluid is held within the abdomen for a prescribed period of time.
What does the lining of the abdomen (peritoneum) do in Peritoneal Dialysis?
Act as a membrane to allow excess fluids and waste products to pass from the bloodstream into the dialysate.
What will be the next step after the dwell is completed?
The used dialysate will be drained out of the abdomen into a sterile container.
What contains the used solution of the abdomen?
Excess fluid and waste that has been removed from the blood that was normally eliminated in the urine.
