Because quality of life and life expectancy are often better than who are treated with dialysis.

Canidates for kidney transplantation are put on a waiting list and require kidney dialysis until a kidney is available.
Who can donate a kidney?
Relative, an unrelated person such as wife , friend or cadaver donor.
Are the 2 kidneys required to live?
No, just one.
Whose organs funciton better and for longer periods of time; those from living donors or from donors who are deceased?
From living donors.
What are the survival rated for patients at one year after kidney transplantation from a living donor and a deceased donor?
Patients receiving a kidney from a living donor have 98% rate of survival and those from deceased donor have 95% survival.
