What is Cystoscopy?
The visual examination of the interior of the bladder
What is the function of water in a Cystoscopy?
To fill the bladder and smooth the insertion of the cystoscope through the urethra.
What is the function of the light source in the cystoscope?
Makes it possible to see all areas of the bladder.
Cystoscopy is a procedure used for what?
For the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the urethra and urinary bladder.
What is a cystoscope?
An optical instrument with an additional port for the insertion of instruments.
Why the bladder has to be stretched with water or saline?
So the urologist can see clearly.
THe cystoscope can be used for what?
Biopsies, stone removal, removal of polyps and some tumors.
