Sexual orientation
The direction of one sexual and romantic interests- towards members of the same gender, the other gender, or both
Homosexual orientation
Erotic attraction to, preference for, and developing romantic relationships with members of the same gender.
Heterosexual orientation
Exclusive erotic attraction 2, preference for, and developing romantic relationships with members of the other gender
Sexual identity
One sense of who one is in terms of one sexual anatomy; cultural stereotypes of masculinity and femininity; one’s place in a given cultural setting is a man, woman, or somewhere in between; and the anatomic sex of those whom one is sexually attracted
Gay males
Males who are sexually attracted to and desire to form romantic relationships with other males
Lesbians
Females who are sexually attracted to and interested in forming relationships with other females.
Heterosexuality
The assumption that heterosexuality- being attracted to members of the other anatomic sex- is normal
Homoerotic
Of erotic nature and involving members of one’s own gender
Heteroerotic
Of erotic nature and involving members of the other gender
Homophobia
A cluster of negative attitudes and feelings towards gay people
Bisexuality
Erotic attraction to and interest in developing romantic relationships with males and females
Monozygotic twins
Twins who develop from the same fertilized ovum; identical twins
Dizygotic twins
Twins who develop from different fertilized ova; fraternal twins
