Chapter 4 Epithelial Tissues Flashcards

1
Q

Characteristics of epithelial tissues

A
  1. Closely packed cells
  2. Basal( bottom) surface sits on glycoproteins gel
  3. desmosome junctions snap the cells together tight junction are like zip lock bags that prevent fluid from going between cells
  4. Avascular. Diffusion allows cells to their nutrition
  5. ET always sits on another tissue (or are superficial)
